Twitter is a strange place. Some days it’s pure sunshine – filled with rainbows and butterflies and positive affirmations (those days are rare but they do happen). Other days it’s a black hole of negativity, with tweet after tweet of people just tearing each other to shreds (not cool, can’t we all just be kind?).
The best Twitter days though are when you log on and find that your feed is full of memes and other such hilarious content. Every now and then, something glorious pops its head above the noise, cancelling out all the other rubbish and making you realise why you continue losing hours of your life to the app.
A video of Trump reciting the iconic Paddy Losty Pintman speech for example. Ok, so it may not really be him saying it but the specifics don’t really matter all that much in my opinion… it’s still funny.
Arguably the second most famous Paddy in Irish history, the Dublin man won hearts after a photo of him and a quote saying that he was known to put away 30 pints or more in a day was shared online. An audio clip of him talking about his love of pints later surfaced and well, the rest is history. Are you even Irish if you haven’t referenced Maureen putting on the fry and ‘going at it again’?
Shared by Twitter user James Kelleher, the video shows Donald Trump sat at his fancy presidential desk in the White House. Except his voice has been muted and instead of hearing Trump talking, Paddy Losty can be heard reeling off his daily pint routine.
