One lucky fan could win a performance from Westlife at a family event of their choosing.

Popular Irish boy band Westlife have revealed that they’re giving one lucky fan the chance to win a performance from the group at a family event. Part of RTÉ’s upcoming Comic Relief event, the band has offered up the prize as they’re unable to perform at the actual event.

Eager to take part, even if they couldn’t be there in person, the group came up with the idea to treat a fan to a once in a lifetime performance instead. Using the prize to help raise money for this year’s Comic Relief event, the Irish Mirror reports that the competition will run across 2FM in the run-up to the big night which is set to take place on Friday, June 26.

It’s believed that the winner of the prize will receive the news courtesy of a phone call from Nicky Byrne himself. Sure, this prize just keeps getting better.

Speaking of the prize, a source said:

“This has never been done by the band before but they were desperate to contribute to Comic Relief in a major way. They will play at a wedding maybe for someone who had to cancel their reception due to the pandemic.

Or they will do a Christening or a 21st, whatever the winner wants and we hope that this will help praise big money for the charity.”

Basically the winner makes the rules when it comes to saying what family celebration they’d like the group to perform at. We reckon this will be very popular with brides to be though… imagine being able to say that your wedding band was Westlife. Not many can claim that to be true.
