If this isn’t a worthy enough endorsement to bring the magazine back, I don’t know what is…
We all know of Cara Delevingne. Beautiful model and actress, known for her roles in Paper Towns (2015) and Suicide Squad (2016). The fact that her name is Cara has never really had an impact on us before. Until her father Charles Delevingne interviewed with The Irish Times and gave us some crazy insight into how she got her name.
Cara Delevingne’s father, Charles, seems to suggest in today’s Irish Times that his daughter is named after Aer Lingus’s (much-missed) in-flight magazine pic.twitter.com/5ujlE1XPRL

It’s almost unbelievable. Charles Delevingne seems to suggest that his daughter’s name originated from none other than the old (and beloved) Aer Lingus magazine, Cara.
The direct quote is “I remember I used to go backwards and forwards to Dublin a lot and the name of the Aer Lingus magazine was Cara. I loved the name.” Well, there you have it. Inspiration can be found in all sorts of places.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic the magazine ceased last November. Perhaps with the large return of air travel, and the association with a certain famous model, it may just come back one of these days.
