It's that time of year again.
Instead of grabbing the last mouldy pumpkin from a damp box in your local supermarket why not live the full Instagram hun experience and pick your own?
Here some amazing pumpkin patches in the country:
1. Alright Pumpkin Patch
The Alright Pumpkin patch has been growing pumpkins since 2013.
They started after working in America and deciding to bring bright colours back to Ireland. Fordstown Co. Meath has very close ties to the origins of Halloween so it's a great place to visit if you want to get into the festive mood.
It's dog-friendly and there is tea and coffee on site.
2. Ladyrath Pumpkin Patch
Established in October 2016 Ladyrath Lane has transformed from a small patch visited by a couple of hundred people to an annual sell-out Halloween festival attracting thousands of people from across the country.
Located in Rathkenny near Navan, you can pick out your very own pumpkin and carve it on site.
3. Ballycross Apple Farm
You'll find Ballycross Apple farm in Bridgetown, Co Wexford. They offer horse-drawn trailer trips to the pumpkin patches and also have apple picking during the year.
Admission is €4.
On site there is nature trails, cafes, farm animals, pony rides, animal feeding, a go cart track and a gift shop.
4. Wooly Wards Farm
Denise Buckley is one of only two growers in North County Dublin who plant acres of pumpkins each year. Just down the road from Denise, Mary Ward & her family (who happens to be a cousin of Denise’s husband) runs Wooly Ward’s Farm.
There are also a few furry friends on the farm that love posing for pictures.
A great spot for all ages.
5. Tinahely Farm
Tucked away in Tinahely, Co Wicklow this pumpkin field also offers tractor and trailer rides. They will host pumpkin picking events for kids where they will get a toasty hot choccy and also get a chance to play in the activity barn after.
6. Nore Valley Park
Choose to come to Nore Valley Park for Halloween and enjoy a family day of fun.
This Halloween season you can pick your own pumpkin from their pumpkin patch as part of normal farm entry; they are offering one free pumpkin per family. Get creative and carve your pumpkin on the farm, or you take it home with you.
Just turn up to our Reception during pumpkin picking season to enjoy all the fun of the farm, with the added bonus of picking lovely locally grown pumpkins!
7. Streamvale Belfast
At Streamvale Belfast, kids can grab a mini wheelbarrow and go and explore their pumpkin patch. They can then pick their own pumpkin and wheel it back up the field to a designated carving marquee where staff will be on hand to help. Barrel and tractor rides are all included as well as lots of other animal shows and activities throughout the day!
This pumpkin patch in Kilternan, Co. Dublin has lots of fun activities for the month ahead. You can pick your own pumpkin, carve it and bring it home and then tackle the spooky maze on site.
9. The Farm Grenagh
Located in Ballymorisheen, Co. Cork, hop on a red tractor before selecting your dream pumpkin.
There's lots of activities during the day for kids and as Cork’s leading pet farm, there are over 25 native Irish farm animals to learn about.
You can also take a stroll through our 40 acres and enjoy a fascinating view of traditional rural life in Ireland. Learn all about farm crops and how we grow them – everyone will leave with a much better understanding of where our food comes from.
