Seven Fab Spas That Would Be The Ideal Pre-Christmas Treat

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

With all of the planning, parties, feasting and meet-ups over Christmas it’s hard not to feel a little run off your feet.

Pretty sure every Irish Mammy in the country has already started sweatin’.

Before all of this hustle and bustle, take a little weekend break to put up the feet, get those knots rubbed out and relax.

There’s tonnes of stunning spots around the country but here’s some of our top picks:

1. The Osprey

The Osprey in Naas recently launched their brand new spa and it’s beyond fab.

It’s an urban sanctuary that will have you feeling like your miles away from everyone and everything. There are three floors which include a thermal suite and relaxation rooms.

The entire spa is covered in luxurious Irish oak and in order to continue the natural theme throughout the spa, the Irish seaweed based product, VOYA was chosen as the product for the spa.

The Osprey Spa offers guests a whole host of treatments and experiences including face and body treatments for both men and women and even seaweed baths and bathing rituals.

The renovation really is something special – definitely worth checking out.

2. Dunboyne Castle

Just a stone’s throw away from Dublin in the picturesque countryside of Co. Meath, Dunboyne Castle offers the ideal location for a cosy winter escape.

As the winter chill creeps up, I can’t think of anything I’d enjoy more than wrapping up in a cosy dressing gown and chilling in a beaut spa.

Seoíd Spa is home to luxury spa facilities including premium spa treatments and a Thermal Suite, where you can chill by the hydrotherapy pool have a steam or unwinding on heated loungers.

Following an afternoon of pure relaxation, you can indulge in a festive Christmas inspired afternoon tea, served in the terrace lounge or in the private dining room.

Ideal.

The Rainforest Spa in Wicklow was created to treat body and mind.

This means spa treatments, yoga, pilates and retreats so you can really take the time to feel better in yourself.

This is the ideal spot to dodge the stress of the Christmas break.

4. Galgorm

Galgorm is up there as one of the best weekend breaks I’ve ever had in Ireland.

They have an outdoor spa village that has wood-fire hot-tubs where you can sip Champagne by the riverside as well as a stunning indoor pool, steam room and sauna.

5. Seafield

It all starts when you sweep up the driveway and builds as you glide into the extravagant lobby, Seafield in County Wexford is the definition of luxury.

The Oceo Spa in Seafield is named European Residential Spa Of The Year. It’s got an unusual design with subdued lighting that makes it feel a little mysterious and slightly secretive.
