“Circumstances are out of our control” Dundalk café to close

This one feels extra sad given the national reopening of the hospitality sector. Darkhorse Pizzas took to Instagram to announce their pending closure.

While most used the weekend to enjoy everything we haven’t been able to for the last two years, Darkhorse Pizzas had to use it for something else. They announced on Instagram that “despite the fact that we’re flying & have never been busier” they will be closing the café at the end of the month.

However, Darkhorse Pizzas have some specials up their sleeves. Their caption states:

“We will be starting up Cookery Classes again, Pop up nights, Pre Order your Cakes & Available for Private Catering.”

It’s a bittersweet farewell to the Dundalk café. Darkhorse Pizzas is a family run business, and is known for the yummy vegan dishes, which included everything from pizzas to sausage rolls. The café was born of owners Oisin and Zoe’s passion for plant based food. Oisin has worked alongside Michelin Star chefs over two decades, while Zoe always hoped to open a café as she spent years working on organic farms and developed a love for sufficient living.

For their final two weeks they open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. You can find Darkhorse Pizzas at Bellurgan Point, Dundalk.
