“It’s not goodbye but it’s definitely very sad.”

After 13 years in business, Rye River Café is closing their premises at the Square in Kilcock. Once voted Kildare’s best café, Rye River has been a sole part of the Kilcock community since it first appeared in 2009. Today, Wednesday 9th November, is their last day trading from this location, and they’ll be serving their usual coffee and treats until 4pm.

It’s not all sad though. While they are shutting up shop where they originally opened, Rye River has been working on a new café for the last few months. The new space is huge, with bookshelves and tons of room for cosy seating, based on School Street in Kilcock, just a two minute walk away from their previous location.

Rye River has yet to announce a launch date for their new opening, however they expect it will be before Christmas. So the Kilcock locals will only have to wait a couple of weeks hopefully before this award-winning café is back.

And in the meantime you can catch them at the golf club on Thursdays and Fridays.
