These vegan cakes will help get you through to the end Veganuary

James Fenton

If you’ve undertaken Veganuary this year, you’re very much on the home straight at this stage.

While some may have been completely converted, others will be looking forward to scoffing some of the treats they’ve denied themselves over the past few weeks once February 1 rolls around. If you’re struggling to wait that long, you might just find what you need to get you over the line in Dunnes Stores.

The supermarket is now stocking OGGs, which is a range of dairy and egg-free cakes that provide a plant-based alternative to cakes you might be used to munching on on a daily basis.

Not only are they delicious, the packaging on OGGs is 100% recyclable, including the plastic and it’s all biodegradable. OGGs was founded by food entrepreneur and ethical food enthusiast Hannah Carter who told Lovin ‘As a business our focus has always been on creating a product that is friendly to the planet, animals and people and weren’t prepared to compromise on our packaging.’

OGGs was launched in June 2019 and the range includes three different flavours, namely Zesty Lemon, Victoria Sponge and Chocolate Fudge. The mini cakes are priced at €5.99 for a four pack, €2.95 for a two pack or€5.99 for a pack of nine, if you’re feeling particularly generous to yourself.

Precisely what you need with the end of Veganuary very much in sight. Pick up your OGGs now at a Dunnes Stores near you.
