Can’t make it to Canada to try poutine? Flipside Sligo is doing its own version of the classic Canadian side dish!
For those who have never heard of poutine (how’s the rock you’ve been hiding under treating you?), it’s a dish with chips, gravy, and cheese curds. Sounds both a little vile, but also kind of amazing? Well, you don’t see poutine everywhere, particularly not in Ireland. But if this is a dish that floats your boat, you may want to take a little trip to Flipside in Sligo.

It’s gravy season ladies and gents, and as gravy is one of the best parts of a Christmas dinner (don’t @ me) it’s only fitting to try and consume as much of it as possible over the holidays. Starting with the Flipside homemade gravy and smoked cheese fries. It’s not exactly poutine, but it’s pretty darn close.
Flipside Burger is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open 5-9 Wednesday to Friday, and 3-9 on Saturdays and Sundays. They’re located on Rockwood Parade in Sligo Town.
