Due to personal circumstances, the restaurant is permanently shutting.

It’s with a heavy heart that the owners Tricia and Martina of The Square Table in Cork announce their plans to close the restaurant. The restaurant, which served “good quality, uncomplicated food” took to Instagram and Twitter to share the news with their followers and customers, saying:

We are heartbroken to announce that the Square Table will be permanently closing due to personal circumstances which are out of our control. We would like to thank the people of Blarney, all our customers, staff, producers, family & friends for your continuous support & memories.”

This comes just months after they were recommended in this year’s Michelin Guide for the sixth year in a row.

The Square Table went on to say that anyone with vouchers for the restaurant will receive a full refund.

We’re sure the Cork locals will be devastated to see The Square Table close. In their closing post, they state that their closing makes room for “an excellent business opportunity for the vacant premises“; they’ve asked that anyone interested should get in touch via email.

We wish Tricia and Martina all the best for their future endeavours.
