“We never wanted to make a post like this” West Cork Burger Co cease trading

Katy Thornton

Due to circumstances outside of their control, West Cork Burger Company has been forced to close its doors and cease trading.

The beloved Cork burger joint took to Instagram to make a post they “never wanted to make” yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately West Cork Burger Company’s Washington Street lease was up, and they were unable to renew it. This led to them having to cease trading and close their doors abruptly this week.

In a candid Instagram caption, the team at West Cork Burger Company thanked the people of Cork for all their support. Their post states:

“From the very bottom of our hearts, we truly want to wish the best to every single customer who supported us along the way.
You are all truly appreciated and we are grateful for everyone we got to meet on this brilliant adventure.
Unfortunately right now, we are closed indefinitely.”

While this news is devastating, we can’t help but maintain a glimmer of hope that WCBC might reopen elsewhere in the future.

While they admit “nobody truly knows what the next chapter might bring“, WCBC remain hopeful for future plans. The caption says any further updates will be posted to Instagram. Perhaps one day they will be able to reopen at a different location. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for them anyway.

For now we say farewell; Cork locals will surely miss their delicious burgers and fries, which were always made with top notch ingredients.
