James Fenton

McDonald’s has confirmed that all of its drive-thru outlets in Ireland will reopen by Thursday, June 4.

Last week, McDonald’s reopened six of its Dublin drive-thrus, leading to manic scenes as people sought went in search of their first Big Macs since restaurants closed back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The company has now confirmed that between Tuesday and Thursday of next week, 51 of its restaurants will reopen for drive-thru while the availability of McDelivery will be extended.

A number of strict measures will be in place at the outlets to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers including a spending limit of €30 per car at drive-thrus and the installation of perspex screens in key locations. You can read about the measures in more detail here.

The company is operating on a limited menu, which can be found here.
