More than 70 Irish chippers will put on €5 meal deals on Wednesday in aid of Pieta House.

Dozens of Irish chippers have come together to raise money for Pieta House with meal deals following the tragic loss of a member of the Irish-Italian chipper community last year.

On Wednesday, the below chippers will offer discounted €5 meal deals to walk-in and collection customers throughout the day.

The €5 offer will apply to fish & chips, quarter pounder & chips and two-piece southern fried chicken snack boxes.

With the hope of raising money for and awareness of the fantastic work done by Pieta House, every shop will have a collection bucket for customer donations and each chipper will also make a personal donation to the charity.

Pieta House t-shirts will also be worn by staff in the participating chippers, the majority of which are located in Dublin.

Speaking to Lovin.ie, one of the fundraiser’s organisers Riccardo Rea said: “In August 2019 we lost a beautiful young man to suicide, he was genuinely loved by everyone. A great young man, son, brother and best friend to everyone. We are all devastated by our loss and we all feel the need to highlight the problem.”
