Chick for a drink? Seems like a fair trade.
Easter weekend is just around the corner, and while there's activities galore for kids (chocolate eggs, Easter egg hunts), there's less so for adults.
Maisie's bar in Athlone acknowledge the unfairness of this, and as a result are hosting what can only be considered an adult-only affair: Chick for a drink. Easter egg hunts are so 2000s (back when we were young enough to enjoy them); instead Maisie's is hiding little toy chicks around the bar, where the prize for finding one is a drink of your choice. And they've got an Easter special on hand to top it off.

If you're lucky enough to find one of Maisie's baby chicks, why not try their 'White Rabbit' cocktail special? It comprises of vanilla vodka, Mozart white chocolate liqueur, espresso, and sugar syrup. It's only available for the weekend that's in it, an Easter themed espresso martini if you will. But if that's not what you fancy you can trade your chick for whatever cocktail your heart desires.
Maisie's hosts this adult-only Easter hunt from the 15th to the 17th April. You can find this bar on Castle Street, Athlone. They open on Good Friday from 4pm to late and on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to late.
