A Food Critic Has Said That This One Food Should Be Banned From The Irish Fry-Up

Nothing beats a good Irish fry. Nothing.

It’s the perfect thing to wake up to, it’s perfect for a hangover.

We cannot name one occasion where a fry isn’t the right answer.

But now, a food critic has said that one of our favourite pieces of food should be left out of a fry?

Say it ain’t so…

BEANS.

Caroline Byrne, an Irish food critic, sat down with Dermot and Dave on Today FM as part of their segment Ask Me Anything.

Byrne said in order to achieve the ‘quintessential’ Irish breakfast, you must have poached eggs instead of fried (since when?!), good quality sausages and bacon from your butchers.

But, in her eyes, beans do not make the cut for a fry.

And why?

“I don’t agree with beans, I think that’s British. Potato fries are unnecessary too, you’ve got toast.”

You can watch the video below.

I don’t know about you but having beans with my breakfast is a necessity. It contributes to making a top-notch fry and I will definitely still use them.

What do you think?
