Come rain or shine, one fact prevails – if you’re planning a road trip, you need to know where you’ll be stopping for coffee. And who wants to get out of the car on a day like this? Luckily, we’ve done our research and have you covered, in all senses of the word. Whatever route you’re taking, we’re here to ensure you pick up the perfect cup to accompany you on the journey.

Here are all the drive-thru spots we’re aware of, county by county. Let us know if we’ve missed out one you’re aware of and we’ll add it to the list!

Clare

Coffee Rush Drive Thru, Lissycasey

Speciality coffee is accompanied by fresh bakes, sausage rolls and ice cream at this spot on the N68, the main route between Ennis and Kilrush.

Cork

Box’d Drive Thru, Carrigrohane & Ballincollig

With two locations to the west of Cork City, either of the Box’d drive thru spots are perfect for stopping off when traveling to West Cork, or even from Cork to parts of Kerry.

Donegal

Yer Man’s Coffee Cove, Fintown

Not technically drive-thru but most definitely drive-by, Yer Man’s is located right on the road between Letterkenny and Glenties, with plenty of space to park up and grab a cup. An ideal stop-off point during scenic Donegal drives.

Dublin

Thru the Green

The OG Dublin drive-thru spot, handily located on the Dundrum Road and an easy stop-off point for anyone in the D14 area.

Mint Coffee, Blackrock

You’ll find Mint Coffee serving up a storm with toasties and shakes on Stradbrook Road. A handy stop-off if you’re on your way from Dublin city to Seapoint, the Forty Foot or any other beauty spots in that general area.

Smack Coffee, Sandyford Road

Handily located right off the M50 at Sandyford, Smack Coffee is an ideal spot for D16-ers to stop off at before embarking on longer journeys.

Chroí Coffee, Kilternan

Tucked away on the Enniskerry Road you’ll find the dotey Chroí, a one-stop shop for toasties, juices and coffee. Insider tip – don’t leave without trying one of their homemade jambons.

Kildare

Tamp and Grind, Clane

Just outside Clane on the Celbridge side you’ll find Tamp and Grind, serving up Bad Habits coffee and vegan treats. Ideal for your morning commute.

Soul Shot, Naas

A hop, skip and a jump away from the M7/M9 merge outside Naas you’ll find Soul Shot, ideally located by these two major routes and a great place to hit up ahead of trips in the Waterford or Limerick directions.

Mayo

The Coffee Shack, Castlebar

Tasty drive thru brews on the outskirts of Castlebar on Station Road. Perfect for trips between Galway and Mayo, Mayo and Roscommon and beyond.

Mocha Beans, Ballina

This spot opened up during level 5 restrictions back in October 2020, battled the pandemic and have made a name for themselves with their in-house roasted coffee and delicious treats. You’ll find them on the Foxford Road for all your refuelling needs!

Meath

The Little Bean, Ashbourne

Coffee, pastries, drool-worthy toasties and more from this wee container at Ashbourne Retail Park.

Wicklow

The Fat Fox, Delgany

Just around the corner from the idyllic Delgany village you’ll find the Fat Fox, a perfect stop-off point for coffee and treats while exploring Ireland’s garden county.
