Hooray – M&S To Launch Wine With Half The Calories Of A Normal Glass

AmyBell

While we all enjoy the occasional glass of wine (sometimes an occasional bottle, eh?), the calories are a lot higher than you would like to think.

Let’s be honest, we never really have just one glass and it’s a habit that is bound to make the pounds start creeping on.

According to Drink Aware there is roughly 159 calories in a 175ml glass of wine, but fear not, because Marks And Spencer is set to sell wine that’s half the calories.

The exciting news was announced on the UK Independent site and we hope it makes its way to Ireland very, very soon.

It will be available in Sauvignon Blanch, Shiraz and Rosé, with each glass containing just 86 calories per 175ml glass.

And it still has quite a high alcohol content standing at 8.5%.

The wine is being produced in Stellenbosch, South Africa and is called ‘Sumika’ which means ‘light’ in Japanese.

The wine is expected to hit UK shelves soon and we’re crossing everything that it will be in Irish stores.

We guess fitting into that little black dress may be easier this year if we drink this.

Would you buy it?
