The Food Safety Authority Of Ireland has released reasons for the closure of certain food premises in Ireland throughout January.
In the report, the Lam Inn Takeaway in Dublin’s Dolphin’s Barn was found to have had ‘human excrement’ overflowing from the food workers’ toilet which staff were standing in ‘thereby carrying it into food preparation areas on their shoes’.
Meanwhile, it was found that in the Hot Spot Takeaway on Parnell Street in Limerick, ‘rodent droppings were present on the floor in the food production area of the premises, on the floor at the rear of upright fridge on which TV screen is mounted, under deep fat fryers, at the opening to a gap under the front counter and on the floor under the pizza oven at the rear of the premises.
