Ireland’s Best Gin And Tonic Can Be Found In The Smallest County

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

And on the third day, he created the sweet, sweet nectar that is Gin and Tonic…

You all know by now, I’m gin obsessed. So, when I heard that Ireland’s best gin and tonic can be found in County Louth, I began to plan my next visit to Ireland’s smallest county.

The Irish Gin And Tonic Fest ran in late June and during the festival, the public voted for the best in the game.

Russell’s Saloon & Gin Emporium were crowned victorious.

Jean McGuinness, Bar Manager of Russell’s in Dundalk said:

“The public reacted brilliantly to The Irish Gin & Tonic Fest, with Stephen Murphy from Old Carrick Mill hosting a fantastic spread of gin tastings and food pairings. Everybody is so curious about Irish gin these days and they were excited to meet the distiller of our festival gin. Our choice of using fresh pear with the blueberries went down a storm with our customers as they said the garnish really brought out the fruit in the gin and the bitterness in the Fever Tree tonic.”

Anyone else want to join me for a G&T in Louth?
