Just Eat have revealed the winners of their prestigious yearly awards and the results are mouth-watering.

A total of 150 restaurants were nominated under 16 categories, with shortlisted representatives from all over the country in attendance at the glamorous black-tie event.

Over 35,000 votes were cast for local and independent takeaways across Ireland in recent weeks. The ceremony saw a delectable array of restaurants commended for their hard work and dedication to delivering the highest standard of service and delicious food.

Award winners were decided by public vote, giving customers across the country the opportunity to support their favourite local restaurant.

The biggest winner on the night was Sambros in Limerick, which was named Best of Ireland. The restaurant also scored the top prize in the Best of Munster category.

Ballymun restaurant Firehouse Pizza also had a great night, taking home the Best Pizza award for the second year running as well as being named the Best of Leinster Award.

Just Eat Managing Director Amanda Roche-Kelly commented:

“We were delighted to celebrate the ninth annual Just Eat Awards this week. These awards not only recognise but celebrate all the amazing restaurants, takeaways and eateries around the country who continuously deliver a little slice of joy to their customers all year round.”

With Dublin not doing very well in the Takeaway Awards last week, they more than made up for it with some big wins at the Just Eat awards. Restaurants from the capital include the Summer Inn in Swords, Thindi and Hot Chiz by Ruby’s.
