This ‘Messy Seafood Bar’ Just Opened In Galway And It Looks Unbelievable

If you’re a seafood fan, you can’t get much better than sitting with a tasty platter looking out across the sea.

And that’s exactly what’s on offer at the latest addition to Galway’s restaurant scene, Seafood Bar at Dock 1.

Dock 1 is situated, as the name suggests, at Galway Docks and has already gained a reputation for delicious fresh produce and a very tasty gin selection.

Now, the restaurant is expanding to include a ‘messy seafood bar’ that will make the “highest quality, expertly cooked, locally caught and locally sourced Irish shellfish and seafood” available to diners in a casual seafood bar-style setting.

The new menu features dishes and platters overflowing with meaty lobster, local rope mussels, crab from Connemara, a selection of Irish oysters from Kilcolgan, Doonbeg and Dungarvan, Donegal turf smoked salmon and succulent clams and prawns.

Some of our favourite dishes include Captain’s Platter of Shellfish and Seafood, Rossaveal Lobster, Cleggan Potted Crab, White Fish Chowder and Hot Shellfish Pot Of Prawns.

There’s also a selection of freshly baked Porter, Treacle and Seaweed Wheaten breads to team with your chowder, served with Irish-churned Abernethy Butter.

Dock 1 clearly believe in the finer things in life with the ethos that “every day is a champagne day” and several options for a glass of bubbles including Taittinger Champagne, Mionetto Prosecco and Conde de Caralt Cava.

Get this on your to-do list!
