A Norwegian design company has revealed its exciting plan to create Europe’s first underwater restaurant.
Architecture firm, Snøhetta, is set to construct the underwater restaurant in Norway’s southern coast in the village of Båly, five hours from Oslo.
The restaurant will simply be called ‘Under’ which in Norwegian translates to ‘Wonder’ and will be a half-sunken building 16 feet under the sea and three stories high.
The restaurant is believed to fit up to 100 guests over the three floors, with guests entering at the top level and working their way down into the sea to the champagne bar and then into the dining room where you will be completely submerged underwater.
We can already picture the views…
They are calling it a ‘sunken periscope’ which will have massive windows giving sweeping views of the sea.
It is believed that parts of the building will also be dedicated to marine biology research.
You will have to wait a little while if you fancy dining there – as construction is said to begin in February next year and the the restaurant is planned to be completed in February – March of 2019.
It’s never too early to add it to your calendar.
