Beef & Lobster Just Opened A New Restaurant In Galway City

Kiara Keane

Foodies rejoice – Beef & Lobster has just opened its first restaurant in Galway city.

The Oliver Dunne owned restaurant already has two locations in Dublin, one in Temple Bar and one in Malahide, and this will be his first venture outside the capital.

The chef’s latest opening is on the corner of Williamsgate Street and Eglinton Street, formerly the home of Maxwells Restaurant.

Beef & Lobster specialises in dry aged steak cuts, Irish lobster and shellfish, while the house speciality of course is surf ‘n’ turf – you can choose from either 10oz Black Angus fillet or Hereford ribeye steak, while the ‘surf’ choice is king prawns in garlic butter, 5oz of crab claws in garlic butter, or half a lobster.

You’ll want to save room for starters as well, with dishes including lobster and prawn fritters with jalapenos, honey and lemon aioli, as well as their signature starter of duck wings with three different styles and dips available.

It will also be offering its famous bottomless brunch Friday to Sundays from 12pm to 3pm, which comes with a choice of bellinis or mimosas in a two-hour sitting.

Oliver Dunne said, “We’re delighted to have Galway as the location for our third Beef & Lobster. We thought it was such a fantastic opportunity as we’ve really found a niche in the market – there is nobody doing what we’re doing so we think we have a lot to offer in such a renowned foodie city.

“We’ve had such great success with Beef & Lobster in both our Dublin locations and we’re confident that the people of Galway are going to love it just as much. Galway is a wonderful city and it was the obvious choice for our first restaurant outside of Dublin and I really look forward to spending more time here.”

Beef & Lobster opens for breakfast, lunch/brunch and dinner seven days a week. Breakfast is available from 10am to 12pm, lunch/brunch is available from 12pm to 4.30pm, and dinner is available from 5pm until late.

You can check out their menu and book online here, as well as booking via email at [email protected], or by phoning (091) 451 400.
