Not ones to take themselves too seriously, staff at Mr Waffle in Galway have really hit the nail on the head with their latest video.

Getting themselves together for the months to come, the team are already preparing for al fresco dining. Sharing a look at what the reality of outdoor dining in Ireland is, the team poked a bit of lighthearted fun at the situation – managing to get a few laughs from customers in the process.

Saying that it’s proving to be a “bit more difficult” than some might suggest, the short clip sees owner Kevin Nugent sat at a table awaiting his lunch. Already struggling to keep his coffee within the confines of his mug, there was really no hope anything else could survive the changeable Galway weather and his burger ends up flying off his plate but mere seconds after it’s served.

Joking that it should be called “al-freeze-co dining” instead, I think it’s safe to say that only the seagulls would be happy with such an outcome.

Commending the guys for keeping everyone smiling, one customer tweeted to say:

“Even as our industry endures the most challenging of times, trust @TribeGalway to remember to have a bit of fun and keep us smiling”.

Tough times make tough people as they say.

If you enjoyed that, this clip of a Kildare café’s take on the situation is well worth a watch too.
