The Late Late Toy Show charity appeal has helped raise a staggering €5.9million in under 24 hours.
We’re big fans of this little country of ours here at Lovin (obvs), but every now and then something happens that makes us extra proud to be Irish. This is one of those times as we’ve just learned that last night’s Late Late Toy Show appeal has almost reached the €6million mark.
Yes, Irish people the world over helped to raise over 5.9 MILLION euros for the charity appeal and they managed to do so in just a matter of hours. So, you could say that we’re fairly bleedin’ brodúil.
To anyone outside Ireland who has no clue what the #LateLateToyShow is and why we are all crying with joy…
It is a show that raised over €5.9m in less than 2 hours in a country with a population of less than 5 million.
It sums up the true spirit of Ireland + our people

A charity appeal that was launched during the show, half of the money raised will be shared between Barnardos, the Children’s Health Foundation and Children’s Books Ireland while the other half will be used as grants to fund a range of children’s charities across Ireland.
Commenting on the idea behind the fundraiser, Ryan Tubridy told RTÉ that it was launched to help “spread the Toy Show magic across the year to children who need it most”.
Still open for online donations for the next two weeks, you can support the cause and find out more information here.
