It’s the Other Voices 20 year anniversary

Katy Thornton

Other Voices started all the way back in 2001

This year Other Voices goes by Fiche Bliain Ag Fás, meaning 20 years a-growing in Irish. The website states: “Part festival, part TV show, part fairytale, for 20 years Other Voices has celebrated what’s about to happen or about to disappear and shared that magic with the world.” Other Voices takes place in the Church of St. James in Dingle, Co. Kerry, and has seen performances by the late Amy Winehouse, The National, and Sigrid in its lifetime. They are all about showcasing new talent, and 2021 celebrates their 20th year running.

The website says, “There will be songs for the head and the heart in the Church of St James and across the Dingle Peninsula. The Ireland’s Edge crew will also be back with more scintillating ideas, stories, performances and conversations from the Edge.” Needless to say they’re planning to be back with a bang!

Keep an eye on their socials for further details on the upcoming event, which will take place between the 25th and 28th November. This will take place both online and live, so people can tune in no matter their preference. Competitions will be running in the lead up to the event for tickets; there’ll be more info on their socials. Numbers for the live event will be reduced to best follow COVID-19 guidelines.
