5 gifts for your loved one that’s always cold (and can’t afford a trip to the Savoy)

gifts cold

With no trip to the Savoy in sight, what’s a cold person to do?

Most people I know can’t afford to simply nip to a hotel for the day when their heating is broken (shocking, I know). I happen to be the resident warm friend in the group, but I have no shortage of pals who are constantly cold, and as a result, I’ve come up with a couple of gift ideas. Plus in this cost of living crisis, anything to keep some heat in your bones would be a great present no matter the person you’re buying for.

Hot Water Bottle

Not exactly groundbreaking, but something your constantly cold friend will seriously appreciate and get loads of use out of. The long hot water bottle is a particular game-changer, and you can pick them up from loads of Irish shops and online stores, including Guineys. One of these will set you back €15.99, ideal if you’re shopping on a bit of a budget.

Dry Robe

Now just because your friend is always cold doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate a good sea swim, and if you want to ensure they’re able to warm up quickly after their dip, a dry robe is the top choice. There’s no shortage of Irish brands selling dry robes, but Salt Robe have some of the most gorgeous ones I’ve seen so far, and therefore are my top choice. Salt Robes cost €140 so a gift that’s on the spenny side, but perfect if your cold friend also loves to sea swim.

Hooded Blanket

Dunnes were doing god’s work when they came out with these hooded blankets. Never has there been a year where one of these bad boys has been more of an essential, especially for all the remote guys and girlies out there. Anything to keep you from getting back into bed am I right? The Dunnes Hooded Blanket costs €25. You can purchase yours HERE.

Hot Chocolate Kit

Nothing warms the hands better than a warm mug (let’s be honest, wearing gloves inside just isn’t practical in a touch-screen world). Grá Chocolate have a luxury hot chocolate kit that would be perfect for the loved one in your life who’s in constant need of warming up. You can buy the hamper HERE or in Brown Thomas, and it costs €65 (if this is too much why not buy a few items from Grá separately and build a hamper of your own).

Portable Heater

A practical gift, but one that won’t go unappreciated. On office days we tend to have about three of these bad boys going at any given time and they make a huge difference. You can buy them at pretty much any electrical store, Woodies, Currys, so find a heater that fits your budget. The one below for example is from Currys and costs €19.99.

Sure who would need a trip to the Savoy hotel when you’ve got gifts like these available?
