If you love the odd G&T every now and again, you’ll definitely want to book a train ticket down to Cork this Easter.

Why? Because there’s a gin festival coming to the city, and now that the Good Friday alcohol ban has been lifted, it sounds like the ideal way to spend the weekend.

Spirit of the City, a festival dedicate to gin, will run from 30 March to 1 April in the Cork Cricket Club on Mardyke Walk.

An authentic traditional style travelling big top will play host to both Cork Gin and beer lovers.

There will be a range of specially brewed beers, local and international craft Gins including Kinsale, Blackwater, Monkey 47 & Hendriks.

Worldwide beers, ciders a selection of wines, champagnes, gluten free beers and minerals will also be available to taste.

And, in case you feel peckish after all the drinking, there’ll be a load of food including yummy bites from Bao Boi’s burgers and Wok & Roll – delish!

Aaaaand just to top it all off, street performers, fire breathers and DJ’s are among the big attractions at the festival, so you’re bound to be entertained for the course of the three days.

Tickets ranging from €15 – €173.39 can be bought here.
