For those in need of a Christmas job, there’s no shortage of them at JD.

JD announced this morning that they have created 1,200 seasonal jobs as the sportswear giant looks to prepare for the Christmas rush.

Ahead of what is always one of the busiest shopping periods of the year, JD have advertised 1,200 Seasonal Sales Assistant positions across the sports and fashion company’s 38 Irish stores.

JD’s flagship store at the Jervis Centre in Dublin account for the largest number of jobs, with 120 positions open, while the JD store in Dundrum Shopping Centre has 90 positions available. There are 55 positions available in JD’s two stores in Cork.

In a press release announcing the recruitment drive, the details of the positions were explained: “Those filling the temporary positions will be responsible for maintaining customer service and assisting the Visual Merchandising team, for keeping stock areas clean and tidy, unloading and reception of deliveries and deputising for staff, amongst other duties.

“The full-time and part-time Seasonal Sales Assistant roles are available to cover the peak sales period between now, throughout Christmas and into the first week in January. The roles will be shift based and may require early starts and late finishes.

“This is an opportunity for suitably qualified candidates to work with a brand leader in the sports and fashion industry at its stores across Ireland, to work wherever they live and to develop a successful career at JD.

“Customer facing experience is required although this is not essential as full training will be provided to successful candidates.”
