Dingle aquarium selling amazing paintings created by their penguins

James Fenton

Like many of us, the ‘Penguin Picassos’ have been trying to keep busy during lockdown by taking up a new hobby and the results are hugely impressive.

Dingle Oceanworld have tasked their penguins with creating some artwork as a means of keeping busy while visitor restrictions are in place and, looking at the results, we’re getting some serious creative envy.

The best part is, these brilliant paintings by Bubbles, Candy and the gang could soon be yours with sales from the masterpieces going towards ‘the vital conservation work done at the aquarium.’

In a post on Twitter, Dingle Ocean World wrote: ‘Enrichment is a massive part of our beautiful penguins day. Our newest exploration has been giving the penguins a chance to create with colour! We have given them ‘penguin friendly’ paints and left the outcomes to the birds. As you can see some of them were much more precise than others.’

The bad news is that the current batch of Penguin Picassos are so popular that they’ve already sold out but Dingle Oceanworld have promised that more will be up on the website in a few days. You can make sure you don’t miss out by keeping an eye on this link.

If they can do it, you have no excuse not to get in touch with your creative side in lockdown, do you?
