Getting married is one of the most special days of your life. You've dreamed of finding the perfect dress ever since you were little when you used to put a tea towel on your head as a veil... just me?
When my sister told me she was engaged I couldn't cope with how excited I was for her but also how fun it was going to be to help her find the perfect dress. After a few visits to stores all across Dublin city, we realised it was going to be much harder than we thought to find that dream dress.
One day, we went to a bridal store in the city and I pulled out this beautiful dress and insisted she try it on. She was a bit unsure at first but once she stepped out and looked in the mirror we knew this was it; this was the one. Then came the harsh reality of it all... that stunning dress was bloody expensive and most definitely over budget.
Neither of us could even look at another dress from that point on, so my sister did a little research and even though the retailer we visited was the only place to stock it in the republic, we found it in a bridal boutique up north in Comber, County Down where it was €1000 cheaper.
Thus began my love affair with Ivory & Pearl Bridal Boutique.
Ivory & Pearl Boutique is situated in The Georgian House in Comber and though it may take a bit of a journey to get there, it's well worth the visit.
The boutique stocks a wide range of stunning collections and gowns suitable for any bride. They have some truly unique pieces for those who wish to stand out but also offer that crisp, classic style too.
You could spend hours going through the dresses here and they are all so gorgeous it would take even longer to, because you'll find yourself staring at the same one for ages, taking in every last detail.
The shop is owned by Kate Speers who is on hand to share her bridal knowledge and help you find exactly what you're looking for. She ensures your visit is personalised and intimate and really makes your visit feel special.
This bridal wonderland is absolute goals and I cannot recommend it enough. If you're looking for your dream dress make sure to pay a visit here.
There is also the most lovely café downstairs that serves a decadent lunch menu, so you could literally spend your entire day here.
