Irish Made: HiddenGent Is Changing The Sock And Tie Game

Trying to find a nice gift for a lad can be near impossible.

I always find myself resorting to socks and scarves for my brother at Christmas. Problem is, it’s so hard to find a pair that’s actually nice and reasonably priced.

My boyfriend’s brother is getting married this week so I went on the hunt to get him some nice bits for his suit – socks, a tie, a pocket square, cuff links and found that very few places sold this pieces in a set.

How strange?

Finally I came across a website that completely tailored (get it) to my needs.

HiddenGent is a company that supplies “style boxes” for men.

What’s a style box you ask?

Basically it’s a box that kits you out from head to toe with slick suit accessories.

Instead of the usual boring colours and patterns and black socks – these boxes are designed to stand out from the crowd and add a little something unique to your wardrobe.

As soon as I saw this product I knew it would be the perfect fit for this week’s Irish Made.

The company was set up by two Irish lads, Sam and Ruairi who struggled to find nice suit accessories for their graduate jobs.

They did what most lads their age do, went to the high streets and were met with a tonne of plain, poor quality ties for €30 and any ‘fun’ socks with a bit of colour were over €10 for a pair.

Several hours of looking at the same ties in multiple shops later, they were left frustrated at the poor choice available and the inconvenience of trying to find them – not to mention how every tie seemed to come from China.

A month later they quit their jobs and started searching every country in Europe for top quality men’s accessories that were more affordable.

Fast forward 8 months and they have introduced their range of style boxes that are very affordable and super stylish.

Sam and Ruairi said:

“We are 2 lads in our 20s who believe that when you stand out for the right reasons you gain the confidence to achieve more and we feel our style boxes will help men do that.”

Let’s be real, whenever I see a lad with a nice pocket square I melt.
