Irish Made: This Is By A Country Mile The Best Moisturiser I’ve Ever Used

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

I have a confession: Up until last year, I didn’t have a skincare routine, as in… nothing… I used makeup wipes and didn’t even moisturize.

I know, I know, a mortal sin.

My problem was every single beauty magazine, blog or website would tell me something completely different. I didn’t know HOW to go about it. That and the sheer laziness of having young skin.

Well, I’m tipping on now and my skin is not what it used to be so I have to make sure I’m doing my best to look after it.

Over the years I’ve accumulated various moisturizers, Christmas gifts and the likes, but none seemed to stand out from the others for me… until I came across one in particular.

Every time I applied it, I would have people message me to tell me my skin was glowing – something I had obviously never heard from people before (cough, cough – makeup wipes beauty routine!).

The magical moisturiser I’m talking about is Voya.

It’s an added bonus that this company is Irish.

The VOYA journey began in 1912 when the first seaweed baths opened in Strandhill, Co. Sligo, Ireland. Seaweed bathing is a 300-year-old tradition and Ireland’s only indigenous therapy. VOYA reopened its seaweed bath spa in Strandhill in 2000 and is today one of the busiest spas in Ireland.

As the popularity of the baths grew, founders, the Walton family found more customers asking if there was some way they could replicate the soothing effects of a VOYA spa experience at home. In 2006, they launched a retail seaweed bath which then led to further skincare and body care lines, evolving into a range that now includes over 50 products, from advanced organic facial products for specific skin concerns to home fragrances.

As you’ve probably already guessed the products are created using Irish seaweed and you’ll now find them in many spas across the country, so you know they’ve got to be good.

The moisturiser I use is called Me Time and it costs €60.

It is a little pricey but it lasted me quite some time so I think it’s worth it.

It has an advanced formulation that combines extracts of organic Irish seaweed, Himanthalia Elongata with natural proven active ingredients, including vitamins A, C and E to help reduce oil production while hydrating the skin. It’s light and mattifying and naturally hydrates the skin, leaving your complexion glowing and perfectly balanced.

I used it daily and I could notice results almost straight away, it gave my skin a healthy glow and it also smelt amazing.

“Me Time” is ideal for sensitive skin. It’s made using a blend of sea-heather and phytofuse renew, both clinically proven to increase the hydration levels and protect the skin from the harmful effects of the environment. It’s rich in antioxidants and can help reduce the signs of ageing by protecting, conditioning and firming your skin.

I absolutely adore it and I’ll definitely be purchasing again.
