The sandy strand has landed itself a place in the top 50.
Keem Bay has long been known throughout Ireland as one of the most beautiful beaches in the country - the white sand, clear water and occasional frolicking lambs in the surrounding green fields have been the subject of many a 'gram and social post.
Now, the idyllic bay is being recognised on an international level after being named as one of the Best Beaches in the World.
Keem Bay came in at number 48, sitting proudly alongside Mystic Beach on Vancouver Island and Isla Robeson, Panama.
The list, published on enjoytravel.com says of the Achill beach:
"Keem Bay is a breathtaking rural and sheltered beach surrounded by cliffs on Ireland’s largest island – Achill Island. Its gleaming white sand rivals tropical islands and the water is superbly clear. The sun might not always be shining, but when it does it’s world-class. And yes, it’s beautiful even on a rainy day".
Enjoy Travel named White Beach, Port Barton, in the Philippines as the best beach in the world, noting its powdery white sand, clear water and lush forest background.
Keem Bay featured heavily in Martin McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin, as the location for the home of Colm (played by Brendan Gleeson).
Last year, Keem Bay was named as the top place to go swimming across Ireland and the UK by Ocean Bottle, a company that manufactures reusable water bottles with a commitment to collecting the equivalent of 1,000 plastic bottles from the ocean for every bottle sold.
