Penneys Make Up Has Just Had An Impressive Shout Out From Huda Beauty

Sarah

Our shining light that rescues us from the bleakest (and poorest) moments, Penneys has long saved our skin with its affordable clothes and has recently upped its game in the beauty department – giving bigger brands a run for their money.

Dupes of popular beauty products include similar lippies to Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kit range and a verrrrrry similar eyeshadow palette to Urban Decay.

Basically, it’s doing every gal who can’t afford to drop all her money on make up a MASSIVE solid.

Penneys beauty range has now received a shout out from the guru that is Huda Beauty – aka glam queen Huda Kattan – in a blog post praising the brand.

The recent “Why Primark Beauty Might Just Be The Best Thing We Discovered This Year” blog sings the praises of Penneys make up and we agree 100%.

Speaking about the new Gold Rush glitter palette, Huda says that “the glitters are pretty intense and actually have amazing staying power; they didn’t fall on our cheeks AT ALL” and that the Insta Girl Diamond Lip Topper glosses are “exactly what you would expect; they give a pretty shimmer to lips that are not in your face or excessively glittery. They’re a bit sticky, and they smell like the sweet glosses of the 90s, but we love the throwback.”

We also tried the nail varnishes (£1.50), and we loved the holographic shades. We tried ‘Glitter Tips’, (a gel glitter formula designed to add sparkle to the end of your lashes), which was definitely a miss – glitter at the end of your lashes just doesn’t work! Overall we’ll say that the Primark collection is pretty much what you can expect, not amazing quality and the packaging of some eyeshadow palettes is very basic, but for the price, we love that this gives you the chance to play, especially if you’re not massively into makeup or just want to try out new trends

The Huda verdict? “Overall we’ll say that the Primark collection is pretty much what you can expect, not amazing quality and the packaging of some eyeshadow palettes is very basic, but for the price, we love that this gives you the chance to play, especially if you’re not massively into makeup or just want to try out new trends.”

Considering a Penneys palette costs about €5 compared to €40 upward, we’ll happily choose Penneys any day of the week.
