You Can Now Rent An Entire Caribbean Island On Airbnb

Alana Laverty

Warning: there is no unseeing the perfection you are about to witness.

We all feel like just dropping everything, quitting our jobs and heading somewhere very, very far away sometimes.

Right? No? Just me? Ok.

Bird Island is located on a ring-shaped reef/island known as an atoll near Placencia, a beach resort on the Caribbean coast of Belize.

It is literal heaven on earth with crystal-clear, turquoise water as far as the eye can see.

If you like swimming, fishing, snorkelling, kayaking and exploring – then this is the perfect place for you.

If the thought of being stuck on an isolated island is your idea of hell, then this is probably not up your street. Transport to and from the island upon arrival and departure is provide, but you’ll be kayaking thereafter bud.

The island is completely self-catering, totally private with all the comforts you need – including WiFi for all your Instagram documenting needs.

The recommended stay is 4-5 days and you have the entire island to yourself during your stay, with the company of some tropical fish as neighbours.

The only bad news here is that Bird Island is booked out almost two years in advance due to extremely demand – like no joke, the next available week is in July 2019.

The listing says, “spending time at Bird Island, even for the shortest of time, you will feel like you have done something truly special”. Sounds like it!
