It’s a sad day for staff at The Harbour Bar in Bray who are mourning the loss of their beloved feline friend, Raoul.

Practically part of the furniture at this stage, Raoul was The Harbour Bar’s much-loved cat-in-residence for several years. By far one of the most popular members of the team, he’ll be greatly missed by customers, staff and owners alike.

Revealing the sad news over on social media, The Harbour shared a lovely tribute to their feline friend – posting a photo of him looking very regal indeed and writing:

“It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our friend, Raoul O’Toole – who passed away in the arms of our wonderful staff member, Cat last night.

“Raoul found us YEARS AGO and little did we know how much we needed him. He brought so much love, craic and joy to the bar and will no doubt leave a big void for both staff and customers on our return.”

Thanking all those who stopped by and gave him some company over the past few months, owners admitted that they will miss him dearly.

“Thank you friend – your 21 years was some feat! We will miss you dearly and hope you and Cinders are having many a shot of milk up there.”

Unsurprisingly, Raoul won the hearts of many a customer over the years too and patrons have been sharing their condolences since hearing the news, with one writing:

“This is a huge loss, Raoul was a gorgeous soul – what a legacy. Our condolences to you guys and his legions of friends.”

More than just a familiar face to greet people upon arrival, it’s clear that Raoul was considered “an old friend” by regulars.
