Shannon Airport has bid farewell to the world’s largest aircraft after a two-day stay on these shores.
The Antonov 225 arrived at Shannon Airport on Wednesday, with a consignment of Personal Protective Equipment for medical staff. Starting off in China, the plane stopped off in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Germany along the way before landing in the Co. Clare airport.
At six storeys high and with 32 wheels, the Antonov is some machine and some people may have spotted it in the sky after it bid farewell to Ireland this morning.
