An Post is marking the 25th anniversary of Father Ted with a set of four new stamp designs, each bearing a different quote from the hit 90s series.
Father Ted turned 25 years young this year (the series, not the character). One of the funniest and most iconic pieces of Irish television to date - an honour it shares with Derry Girls - An Post have decided to celebrate the milestone by releasing a number of Father Ted-inspired stamps.
Four in total, each one bears a different quote from the show with those that made the cut including the famous 'that would be an ecumenical matter', 'that money was just resting in my account', 'will you have a cup of tea, Father?' and 'that's mad, Ted'.

As for the funky retro wallpaper in the background of each stamp? Apparently, that was specifically chosen to match different rooms in the Craggy Island parochial house.
Saying that she is really 'proud' of the stamps, Pauline McLynn - better known as Mrs Doyle - later added:
'They're gorgeous stamps, really comical and colourful and capture the essence of the show. The legacy of the show and everyone involved with it lives on with Father Ted's ongoing success and influence on language, on comedy writing and on generations of fans.'
Available to buy for €5.70, the specially designed stamp booklet comes with five stamps.
Looks like they decided to stick to the slightly more politically correct quotes as sadly there's no stamp that reads 'feck, arse, drink, girls'... Father Jack would be so disappointed. Other favourites I suggest they consider for future Father Ted-inspired stamps include 'those women were in the nip', 'how's your bra?' and 'chewing gum for the eyes'. All golden.
