Westlife’s new single is out now, with an album coming soon

Fiona Frawley

It’s a good day to be a Westlife stan.

They’ve been teasing it for the last couple of months, and this morning the foursome officially released their new single. If you spent the late 90s and early noughties blaring their self titled debut album on your disc man, this new release should hit the spot. It’s poppy, it’s upbeat, and even has the bit towards the end where the everything goes quiet for a bit, the singing intensifies as the music builds in the background and then the chorus comes back, booming and victorious. You know the kind of thing I mean.

It’s less of a ~standing up from the stools~ number, but it definitely wouldn’t be out of place on the Coppers dance floor. Released just in time for the 22nd, if you ask me. There’s a snippet of the song on their insta now, but you can listen to the full thing on Spotify and probably every radio station in Ireland.

In terms of the album, it’s called Wild Dreams and features covered art of the lads looking pensive in a field of pink hay. It’ll be out on the 26th of November, and you can preorder signed and deluxe versions from their website now.

With double denim and 90’s curtain bangs well and truly back in fashion, this album release is impeccably timed.
