A Donegal Football Team Caused Pure Havoc On The Island Of Arranmore

Sarah

This might just be one of the stranger news stories you’ll read today.

A junior Donegal football team got up to some fairly wild drunken antics after winning a match on Arranmore island.

Donegal Now reports that the roughly 500 inhabitants of Arranmore, an island off the west coast of Donegal, were shocked after several players took the party too far.

“Damage was done in the hostel they were staying in, a handbrake was let off a car and it rolled down a hill into two more, and a goat was allegedly ridden like a horse in a nearby field.”

A source told the Inish Times that the footballers are “ashamed of themselves”, adding:

“I think we also have to be careful not to demonise them over the head of this. I’m not making excuses for them, but we’ve all done stupid things as young men, especially with drink taken.

“Nobody was killed – though obviously the incident with the goat shouldn’t have happened.”
