A man charged by gardaí with two counts of rape has been released in order to travel to music festivals in the UK.
That’s according to The Irish Independent, which reports that Letterkenny District Court heard that the man was due to be employed at the festivals this summer.
He had previously been instructed to sign on weekly and surrender his passport as part of his bail conditions but a judge ruled today that the 20-year-old should be allowed to travel to the UK to attend the festivals.
He has been ordered to surrender his passport on his return and his case is due before the courts again in late September.
