A man in his late 40s was attacked on the Aran Islands this morning.
According to the Irish Independent, the attack happened the Kilronan area of Inis Mor.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, took place outside of a B&B in which the Gardai believe the man was staying with his family.
A Coast Guard helicopter transported the man to Galway University Hospital.
His injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
It’s believed the victim was known to his attacker.
