A Status Orange Snow-Ice Warning Is In Place For These 7 Counties

Darragh Berry

Everyone remain calm, Paddy’s Day will remain grand, it might be a bit wet but that’s it, no snow.

On Sunday however…

We’ve heard so much talk about the son of the Beast from the East and it looks as though it’s going to do most of its damage on Sunday as Met Éireann issue a Status Orange snow-ice warning for these 7 counties.

The places on the list include: Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath and Waterford and Met Éireann say that “scattered heavy snow showers will lead to accumulations in places and some drifting.”

The warning was put in place at 5pm on Friday and is in valid from early Sunday morning at 3am to Sunday at 12pm.

If it’s anything like Storm Emma or the original Beast From The East, it might not be the last weather warning we see this weekend.

Hopefully it doesn’t have a negative affect on anyone’s Bank Holiday weekend. Stay safe out there, folks.
