A Status Yellow weather advisory is in place for Munster, Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan today, with a risk of spot flooding.

Heavy rain today, continuing in the east for a time tonight, with totals of 25 to 35 mm forecastby Met Eireann.

The warning was issued at 7am and will remain in place until 3am tomorrow morning, when tomorrow is expected to be brighter with sunny spells.
