One of Ireland’s largest banks, AIB, have recently come under fire due to technical issues – leaving their customers unable to withdraw money in certain branches, and unable to log into their online banking accounts.
The State-owned bank has stated:
AIB is experiencing some technical issues online, in branches and on the phone which may affect some transactions. AIB customers can continue to withdraw cash from ATMs and make purchases in store and online with their AIB cards.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience while this matter is being addressed. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
Allied Irish Bank said customers can also visit any AIB branch for help with their transactions.
This isn’t deemed good enough for customers, however, who have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions:

AIB’s Customer Support Twitter, who boasts an impressively active service, has ensured that they are doing their best to rectify the problem – and all banking options should be back up and running soon.
We’re currently experiencing technical issues and are working on a resolution. Updates will be provided here on a regular basis, thanks
