SuperValu, Lidl and Aldi have issued an urgent recall following a warning that these products may contain traces of harmful bacteria.

Willowbrook Foods Nettownards Northern Ireland has asked for a recall of four of its salad products which contain bacon.

This precautionary recall is being made over fears that they all the products may be contaminated with a harmful bacteria, Listeria monocytogenes.

The products affected by the recall are:

Recall April 26 1
Lidl Meadow Fresh Salad Bowl
Lidl Deluxe Potato Salad With Bacon
Aldi Salad Recall April
Sv Mixed Leaf Caesar Salad With Bacon

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland is saying that: “Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in the stores which sold the affected products advising customers not to eat these specific batches.”

Symptoms of someone who has contracted Listeria monocytogenes include: high temperatures, muscle ache or pain and diarrhea and in severe cases, people can get meningitis and septicemia.

This is the second recall of bacon-related products from Irish supermarkets in the last week following the recall of these products from Dunnes and Aldi.

They too, were also believed to possibly contain the same bacteria.

If these products are in your home, it is recommended that you bring it back to your nearest store where you can avail of a refund or a replacement of the product.
