SuperValu, Lidl and Aldi have issued an urgent recall following a warning that these products may contain traces of harmful bacteria.

Willowbrook Foods Nettownards Northern Ireland has asked for a recall of four of its salad products which contain bacon.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland is saying that: “Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in the stores which sold the affected products advising customers not to eat these specific batches.”

Symptoms of someone who has contracted Listeria monocytogenes include: high temperatures, muscle ache or pain and diarrhea and in severe cases, people can get meningitis and septicemia.

This is the second recall of bacon-related products from Irish supermarkets in the last week following the recall of these products from Dunnes and Aldi.
