Gin. It’s become the Holy Grail of the modern generation.
First there was Blackwater’s strawberry and pink gin, then came glitter gin, followed by gin advent calendars.
But what about a really cheap, affordable gin that won’t mean remortgaging?
Low-cost giant Aldi is taking advantage of the gin-tinted spectacles that most of us seem to be wearing these days, offering up a range of cheap spirits just in time for the festive season.
The gins are launching in the UK in October and with Aldi usually replicating their product lines here in Ireland we hope to see them popping up for Christmas. Eight different types, oh my god!
The first – the Oliver Cromwell 1599 Sloe Gin will come with “an intensely aromatic plum and cherry flavour [which] resonates throughout the mouth, closely followed by a hint of almond from the stone of the sloe fruit, giving a full and complex taste.”
Gin Lane 1751 Victoria Pink Gin’s next. The perfect balance between sweet and dry, apparently.
Now La Fleuriste French Gin promises to be complex and elegant, perfect for a Saturday night dinner party…
The Topaz Blue Premium Gin is ‘elegance in a bottle’
The Needle Blackforest Gin reminds us of another famous gin on the market in terms of the bottle!
Boyle’s Premium Irish Small Batch Craft Gin will be following soon after on November 14.
And finally, the Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin, which received a gold medal at the 2017 IWSC Awards…
Every gin lover’s dream come true.
