Ireland's most eligible bachelor

Could you be Ireland’s most eligible bachelor?

Applications are currently open to find Ireland’s most eligible bachelor as the Westmeath Bachelor Competition moves to a national level.

Four judges – Louis Walsh, Anne Doyle, Brian Dowling and Tara Farrell – will decide on the winning man at the Westmeath Bachelor Competition and Ball on March 13, 2020 in the Mullingar Park Hotel.

With the ultimate goal of turning this contest into the male equivalent of The Rose of Tralee, the event organisers said: “Historically Ireland has looked to our female population to find an individual who is polished, poised, has a social conscience and is able to represent themselves on a national stage. Now it is the turn of the gentlemen to shine.

“This all inclusive event naturally welcomes and invites men of all orientations and backgrounds to represent a new Ireland!”

Applicants from each county are being sought, before they are then narrowed down to the top 12 for the St. Patrick’s weekend event.

The winner will take home the top prize of €2,000 worth of shopping in Mullingar, a holiday worth €1,000, €500 for their chosen charity and the signature Westmeath Bachelor Trophy piece.

The criteria for applicants and further information on the competition is available to view on the official website.
