Two Irish Baby Names Are All Over America At The Moment

Darragh Berry

We love seeing the Irish out in force and in numbers. Whether it’s McGregor standing proudly in the Octagon, U2 selling out a number of shows for their tour or even just a couple of baby names in a top 20 list.

Yeah, that’s right, following on from the news that the nameSaoirse would be a big hitter in the USA in 2018 because of a certain actress with the same name, it turns out that there is two other Irish baby names that the american people are just lovin’ at the moment.

ABC is reporting that baby name experts Nameberry have released their most searched for baby names for 2018 so far and have released a list of 20 for boys and 20 for girls.

Coming in at 11 on the girl’s side is Maeve while Declan scrapes into the top ten for the lads.

There’s a few other names that you could claim as being Irish on the list too – with a push.

Like Cora for example which is in third place and we can only assume it is because of American’s massive interest in GAA ladies Football and Mayo talisman, Cora Staunton.
